Bear with us har har har

Just like us, this website is under construction. Self-actualizing, improving, owning the space. You know what we mean.

We're working hard to make this website as kick-ass as we can - yes, we are busy beavas. If you've wandered here, bookmark us and check back soon!

Frequently Asked Questions

Of course there are dumb questions! We just don't mind answering them, because you're probably not the only one who's...asking them...

If your question isn't here, or you want clarification (or just to say 'hi'), email us at beavatales@gmail.com!

Do Canadians Really Say "EH"?

We do. Much more than we think. It's kinda embarrassing, really.

However, we do NOT say "uh-BOOT" (OK, maybe further East it sounds a little like this. It's more that Americans say "uh-BAAAAAAout". We do absolutely say "SORE-ree" when we apologize. Americans say "SAWrrrrry".

Do your prices include shipping?

Ideally we would have loved to include shipping in the listed price, but we wanted customers to have the option of choosing express shipping. So, we are letting Shopify/ our partner tack on shipping options based on your geographical location.  There is a shipping discount for 2nd/subsequent items, so you save on shipping if you order multiple pieces!

So how does your store work?

Beava Tales really exists on Shopify. When you click on an item, you'll be taken to the Shopify Store, which will track your cart as well. When you are ready, whether you are browsing from here or from the Shopify store, you will be checking out via Shopify. So whatever Shopify allows in terms of payment options is what you can use.

Refund/Exchange Policy?

Because your apparel is generated when you order, at this time, we are only offering store credit for product that arrives to you already damaged. We don't have a Repository for unloved orders, so Resale would not be practicable.  Still, we're not dicks. If you are unhappy with your order, contact us at beavatales@gmail.com and we'll figure something out!

What is up with your SIZING?!

Yeah, these are not sizes we usually see. Short answer: Our drop ship partner doesn't use what we would consider "normal" sizes. However, the size charts are pretty accurate. CHECK THE SIZE CHARTS, though. That is your safest bet.

Why are your human
mock-up models uh,
skinny and white?

Because these are the mock-ups offered by our current drop ship partner. Where possible, we just provide a 3D mock-up. One of these days, when our empire has grown, we will be able to have more power in the manufacturing and marketing process. For now, we are using what is available for our purposes and cost effective.

We do love to post pictures of the apparel on ourselves, friends/family, and customers, so send us your glamour shots!

Are you dog or cat people?

One Beava Diva is a dog person who likes cats. The other (April) is a cat person who likes dogs. And fish. And reptiles, amphibians, and some insects and arachnids.

What if I see a design I like but on a sh** colour? Or I'd love it without the *gasp* bad words?

In most cases, we could probably create a version with another colour. Just email us at beavatales@gmail.com and ask. For example, "I LOVE those Trillium flowers, but I'm really hoping to showcase them in radioactive, eye-bleeding green V-neck short sleeve. Ya think you could do that?"  The answer would probably be "Sure, but as soon as you buy it, we're taking it down because we don't want to scare other customers away."

Why are some of your clothes in "skinny bish" sizes too?!

For categories we consider "underserved" - eg. Pride and Mental/Physical Health Humour, we decided to offer smaller sizes as well. Everything else we want for "plus size" customers. Both of us grew up unable to find clothing in our biggrr sizes. At the mall, we'd ask for the larger specimens in the range and heard crickets. Oh look, 31 XS items and zero XXL, etc. The whole point of this endeavour was to empower biggrr sized folks like us. Make sure you check the size charts and pick according to your measurements.

What is your policy / position on A.I.?

Fuck A.I. (art). April is a creative (film, fiction, etc.), so A.I. is a big deal. Basically, we don't promote or create A.I. designs. Any future artist collaborations will require submission of process work so we can be sure it is not A.I.

Wait --  you do collaborations?

We will be doing "collaborations" with artists from time to time. Eventually. We will let you know when we are interested in looking at your designs.
